Camp Mission: UN Camp Sweden aims to create role models within society who transform communities around the world. How do we do this: Through leadership and community development training, participants are trained to continue their work in building cohesive, active and healthy neighborhoods through sport. Both in Sweden and around the world, sport has the power to transform society and UN Camp Sweden aims to create role model ambassadors to achieve this. What do the participants do when they arrive back home: equipped with the inspiration and teaching received at UN Camp Sweden, the participants set out into the community to continue their projects with a focus on developing further role models in society in order to affect health, inclusion, community development and other issues discussed at the camp. Where do we do this: The camps take place at Bosön sport facility in Stockholm Sweden and is part of the larger UNOSDP Leadership Program which has camps around the world. Why do we do it in Sweden: Having the youth come to Sweden, gives a great opportunity for the Swedish and International sport for development (SDP) and peace communities to come together, share ideas and build networks. UN Camp Sweden can be seen as a window for Swedish society into the international SDP arena. Having the camp here is also a great inspiration and cultural learning experience for youth from around the world who come to Sweden.
